Dr Roz Rabie is an Allergist and General Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in both private practice and public hospitals, providing dedicated care to all members of the family and community. Longer consultation times ensure an empathetic approach and compiling individual care plans for each family member.

Qualifications and Experience:
Dr Rabie obtained a BSc with distinction, in Genetics and Microbiology from WITS University and then graduated with a MBBCh from WITS. She served her Internship at Tambo Memorial Hospital and her community service at both Charlotte Maxeke and Baragwanath hospitals. She then spent almost 3 years working in the UK in paediatrics, anaesthetics and ICU. Upon her return to South Africa, she worked at Stellenbosch Hospital and  various private practices. In 2006 she opened her own GP practice, focusing on Women's Health, Paediatrics and family healthcare. In 2012, Dr Rabie obtained the Diploma in Allergy from the College of Medicine (SA); simultaneously completing the Certificate in Asthma Care with distinction. 2017 saw Dr Rabie graduate with a MSc in Allergy from Southampton University. Her thesis dealt with the use of adrenaline/epinephrine in anaphylaxis in low and middle income countries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served in a COVID-19 unit in Bloemfontein, also assisted in setting up a public vaccine site and spent time working in Occupational Health. Dr Rabie has a special interest in Immunology and Auto-Immune diseases, helping patients to navigate these complex and often debilitating illnesses.Â

Domestic Worker Clinic
Our clinic provides compassionate, professional healthcare services tailored to the needs of domestic workers. We offer convenient access to:

Women’s Health
Dedicated services to cover all aspects of a woman and girl’s health.
- Reproductive health
- Contraceptive management including insertion and removal of IUDs
- Pap smears to screen for cervical cancer

Allergy and Immunology Services
- Diagnosis, management and desensitisation of venom, inhaled, food and drug allergies is provided. We provide comprehensive assessments on the first consultation and schedule a follow-up two weeks later to discuss the results.
- Skin prick testing may be performed at the first consultation, and/or you may be sent to the laboratory for blood tests.
Inhaled Allergies
Aeroallergens include dust mite, cockroach, tree and grass pollens, cat and dog dander.
An asthma assessment will also be performed should you present with signs and symptom.
Skin Allergies
- Ecsema/atopic eczema.
- Urticaria/hives.
- Other skin conditions may be auto-immune related and are also investigated.

Drug/Medication Allergy
- Allergies to drugs/medications and preservatives may lead to severe reactions.
- It is important to investigate any suspected drug allergy, to facilitate possible desensitisation.
Food Allergies
- Diagnosis of Food allergies.
- We will develop a management plan and may refer to a dietitian to set up personalised diet plans.
- Oral food challenges are conducted at the practice.

- Diagnosis of Occupational allergies, contact dermatitis and other work related allergies.
- Assessment of lung conditions related to the work environment eg Baker’s Asthma.
